Peruvian Huacatay is also known as “black mint” for its fresh aroma and taste. 

Related to the marigold and native to the Andes Mountains, Huacatay is also often described as a blend of sweet basil, mint, lemon, and tarragon.  A herbal delight!

Huacatay is indispensable when making Peruvian Chicken.  Beef stews or creamy sauces will also benefit from its complex flavor.  Mix a bit with cream or goat cheese and serve as a dip!

Inca’s Food Hucatay paste is easy to use, just add a spoonful to your Peruvian recipes (just be aware: it is strong, so one jar will last for a while!)

Ingredients: huacatay leaves (black mint), salt, citric acid, ascorbic acid and potassium sorbate.
