From Tunisia, Le Phare du Cap Bon Harissa Paste is the original and authentic harissa from the Cap Bon region and it is entrenched with heritage of ancient civilisations and culture.
A super-versatile fiery North African paste which is orangey-red in colour. A blend of different types of red hot chilli peppers, garlic, coriander, caraway seed, and sea salt.
It can be used as a condiment or as an ingredient in cooking and provides a real boost as an accompaniment to vegetables and pulses. Harissa is something every 'foodie' kitchen should have.
Use to marinate lamb, chicken and seafood or spice up a pepper and chickpea stew with a generous dollop of the sauce. Nigella Lawson mixes harissa with mayonnaise as a dip to go with prawns and Lorraine Pascale has a recipe for harissa hummus.
