Zatarain’s Red Beans and Rice Mix brings authentic New Orleans-style flavor right to your kitchen.


Known as a traditional Monday meal, this rice mix features long grain white rice, tender, pre-cooked red beans, bell peppers, onions and a delicious seasoning blend.


Prepared either on the stove top or in the microwave, you can serve in less than 30 minutes alone as a savory side dish with a protein or make this mix a hearty meal by adding sausage, and in 3 minutes, you can enjoy the flavor, soul – and spice – of The Big Easy!


The easiest way to bring the bold flavor of New Orleans to your table is to make sure Zatarain’s is in your pantry!


Ingredients: Enriched Long Grain Parboiled Rice (Rice, Iron, Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid), Red Bean, Enriched Bleached Wheat Flour (Wheat & Malt Barley Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Salt, Onion, Corn Starch, Tamari Soy Sauce (Soybean, Salt), Red & Green Bell Pepper, Yeast Extract, Spices (Including Red & Green Bell Pepper, Paprika), Torula Yeast, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Garlic, Malted Barley Flour, Natural Flavor (Including Hickory Smoke), & Extractives of Paprika.


Stove-Top directions:
1. Mix 3 cups water, Rice Mix, and 2 Tbsp. butter, margarine or olive oil in 2-quart saucepan until well blended. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover.
2. Simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent rice and beans from sticking.
3. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving.


Microwave directions
1. Mix 3 cups hot water, Rice Mix and 2 tbsp. butter, Margarine or olive oil in 2 1/2-quart microwavable bowl until well blended. Cover.
2. Microwave on high 5 minutes. Stir.
3. Microwave on high (50% power) 18 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally.
4. Let stand in microwave 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving.
Microwave ovens vary; adjust cooking times as needed. Cooking times are based on an 1100 watt microwave oven.
Caution: Bowl and contents will be very hot. Use pot holders when removing from microwave.
